Hi! My name is Kristiana Burgi and I am an urban designer, architect and yoga enthusiast. I graduated with my M.Arch from UCLA in June 2020 and a Bachelor's of Science in City and Regional Planning (CRP) from The Ohio State University in 2016.
Through the CRP program, I was able to gain experience working within communities of need, and encountered racial and environmental issues that I was closed off to growing up. In my residence in Ohio, I witnessed the effects of environmental and health disparities within communities, influencing my minor in Public Health. I was drawn to nonprofit design firms that promote equality and health for all through the built environment, inspiring my graduate studies of architecture. I am driven by the power of humanitarian architecture and urbanism, promoting socially conscious design, to shape the environments we live, work, and play in. As I reflect upon my journey from planning to design, I’ve learned how much design can influence an environment and every decision we make as designers truly matter. |
